Quick Update From Hawaii
Hi all! Having a blast in Hawaii! Taking a brief time out this morning (yes, it's still morning here, lol) to give my legs a rest and stay out of the sun (burnt the top of my head while snorkling...note for next time...wear a ball cap!). Below is a picture of our night snorkeling with the Manta Rays. So Cool!!! Would recommend the adventure to anyone visiting the Big Island!

You've Got a Friend
Oops! I know I said yesterday's card was the last one until May 5th, but I had to play along with the Imagine That Digis by Kris Challenge #5. So, without a lot of fanfare here is the image Bella and Skipper!
It doesn't show in the photo but the background is lightly chalked, and the flower centers are filled with liquid pearls. Thank you Kris for another adorable image to play with!

Hopping By
It's Monday and laundry day at my house. We're in vacation countdown mode, and today will be my last post until after our trip. This is my daughter's birthday card. She's a frog fan, and this jubilant little guy from C.C. Designs at All That Scraps had to wish her a Happy Birthday.
I'll apologize in advance for not visiting your blogs or commenting on your lovely cards for the next few weeks, but I'm sure you'll understand. Take care my crafty friends, and please stop back here on May 5th! Aloha!

Imagine That Digis by Kris Challenge #4
Had to sneak one more card in this week! And can you believe I actually created a masculine card?!? Thank you Kris for giving us a digi that was out of my comfort zone! At first I wasn't sure I was going to play along with this challenge: First because my schedule's been crazy full and second because I wasn't sure about coloring a car. Now for all you car enthusiasts out there, please do not criticize my coloring and color choices too harshly. I'm one of those gals that just gets in a car and goes. For me, a car is a means to get from point A to point B. I could bore you to death with my story of how I ended up spending an entire day with a judge (my former boss) in a car museum. Not my idea of a fun time, but I did see some "pretty" cars, lol. Anyway, here's my entry for the Imagine That Digis by Kris Challenge #4. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch #190 for my design layout, and the patterned paper is from the MME Fine and Dandy True Blue pad (yes, I used another previously unloved pad!).
Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!!

Breeze in Spring
Yippee it's Friday! I'm especially looking forward to today because hubby and I are celebrating my birthday! Tomorrow is the actual date, and we'll be spending the day with family and friends, so today is just for my honey and me.
Surprise! No bright colors on today's card! This image, Breeze in Spring, from A Day for Daisies, needed soft neutral colors with just a bit of color (the aqua). The design layout is from Just Us Girls Challenge #183. The little wooden bird was a MAJOR score at Michaels! I was in the store to pick up cutting blades and happened upon a 60% off one day sale on selected items. I purchased 5 different packages of Recollections wood embellishments. When I purchased them, I wasn't entirely sure I'd like wood elements on cards, but this bird worked so well.
Best wishes for a fabulous weekend! Thank you for visiting!

Happy Day and Happy Thoughts!
Hi all! Hope you are enjoying your week. I've been busy with a project, but...shhhhhh...it's a secret. You'll need to check out my blog on May 5th for some BIG news! I'm so excited! Well, onto today's cards. The first card uses Zip from Sweet November stamps. The second card's image is Fibonacci, also from Sweet November stamps. You can find Zip at the All That Scraps shop here and Fibonacci here. Both are additions/friends to Sprite Penelope by the talented Amy Young. The papers are from the MME Six by Six Happier pad (one of those many I hadn't used a sheet from). For some reason, I'm on an "orange" spree at the moment. Seems every image I color, I'm wanting to add the color orange. To soften the overall look of the cards and keep them out of the Halloween realm, I printed the images and sentiments in a medium brown rather than the usual black.

Blueberry Girl
Happy Monday! Today's card features another Mo's Digital Pencil image, Blueberry Girl. Like last Friday's image, this one has been colored for nearly a year, but sitting awaiting a card. I was learning to use chalks to create a background. And I couldn't bear to cut out any of the clouds after I spent so much time making them, hence the HUGE space around the image. The blueberry embellishments were colored and fussy cut. The adorable crocheted flower came from Amy of A Thousand Sheets of Paper.
Thank you for stopping by, and for your comments!

Baby Fairy Kiki
TGIF! Anyone have big or special plans for the weekend? Hubby is finishing up with his tax clients this weekend, so nothing major going on here. I should tidy my craft room (it's such a disaster, I cannot even show you a picture of it, lol), but I have a few cards I need to make before we go on vacation, so cleaning will have to wait (oh darn...so sad...wink, wink).
Baby Fairy Kiki from Mo's Digital Pencil has been colored for a LONG time, like over a year, but I'd never put her on a card. Earlier this week I purchased these gorgeous purple roses at Michaels and thought one would work nicely as an embellishment for a card with Kiki. To add a little more drama, I edged the rose petals with Stickles. Very simple card, but Kiki is certainly the star!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Aloha
Only 15 more days until my vacation! Can you guess where hubby and I are heading? The title of today's post should give you a hint! I used the Some Odd Girl April Sketch and Hula Anya from The Greeting Farm for today's card. I colored Hula Anya's hair golden blond to resemble one of my friend's five year old daughter. My friend and her daughter are joining us on the last week of our vacation, and I'm going to use this card as an invitation to them to accompany me to an afternoon tea at the Moana Surfrider Veranda. Years ago I took my daughter and her friend for their first afternoon tea at the Veranda. Looking forward to providing the experience to another young lady!

Happy Birthday to You
Still going with the bright colors! Dustin Pike's Clown 1a from his Blogiversary 3 collection was calling to all the Copics laying on my desktop, "Color Me!" Lol, who am I to ignore the pleas of a happy clown? My father's birthday is next week, and this card should bring a smile! I used Hootenanny papers from MME, and actually stamped the sentiment directly on the card face (you have no idea how much I wanted to run it through my printer instead). The clown and his balloon are fussy cut and attached with foam sticky dots. Adding the twine for the balloon string and some red bling finished off the card.
A shout-out goes to Mary J of Where's My Creativity for the inspiration for the card layout! Thanks Mary!

Just Keep Swimming
How's this card for a bit funky and a bit traditional? I giggle when
I look at this card. Not sure what I intended to create when I started
out, but here's the weird result! A friend of mine is going through a
rough patch, and this image by The Alley Way Stamps
(a freebie!) seemed so appropriate. Using my favorite bright Copics, I
colored the fish. Then, hmmm...what to do with this school of wildly
hued fish? Using a texture folder, I embossed the background to mimic
seaweed. Ok, so far, so good. Then the process took a wide right
turn! How did the sparkly black ribbon and bow along with the black gem
flourish end up on this card? Still giggling, by the way. In the end,
while totally whacky, I like the card. And it so fits my friend's
personality! She's a girlie girl who loves bright colors (same as me)
and loves glitz and glam. This card has both! It doesn't really show
in the photo, but the bubbles are colored and sparkled to look
iridescent and there is sparkle on the fish scales. Yes, I'm still
giggling...

A Bouquet of Spring
Finally! The weather here in SW FL has returned to normal! And Spring is here! Using A Day For Daisies image, Easter Dress, I created a card to celebrate the arrival of Spring. Even though I am happy living now in FL, I do miss Spring in East Tennessee. The daffodils on this sweetie's dress remind me of the beautiful fields of flowers that would bloom in the mountains and valleys. Seas of yellow, white, gold, and orange...so many in number and variety! Before living in TN, I never knew there were so many types of daffodils. So pretty! I colored the flowers on this image to represent my favorite variety that is a tri-color of orange, white, and yellow. The background papers are from the digi Fresh Air Collection by Lori Whitlock, and the daffodil stickers are Jolees from my stash.
