A Cute Goth

This sweetie, Luna Bitterfrost Skulls Rock, from the now closed Pollycraft (whine, sniffle, pout) was an experiment in coloring for me.  I tried the "grey first" technique.  Not sure I will use that technique much in future, but it sure provided Luna some funky hair!  I've had her colored up for ages, but wasn't quite sure what type of card to place her on, and nothing in my stash provided any inspiration or wow factor.  Perusing my newly purchased Bewitched DCWV matstack, I noticed several papers with that odd pinky purple color and papers with skulls and lime green.  A perfect match!  Adding a few skull accents, a headstone border, and some bling flourishes, and this card is ready for Halloween!

Dear Santa

When I saw the Santa paper in the Paper Studio "Santa and friends" 6x6 paper pack, I immediately thought of the Bugaboo stamp, JJ Ornaments Dear Santa.  This image makes me giggle and remember my single days, hehe!  Now the question is, which of my single and slightly naughty friends will receive this card for Christmas?  Maybe I'll have to make more than one!

Not sure how much I'll be around this week as I've been called for jury duty.  I don't mind doing my "civic duty", but after years of working in Criminal Justice, I get too bored in court....seen it and heard it a thousand times.  Wish me luck and hope I don't fall asleep in the jury box.  Judges really don't appreciate that!

Halloween CASEd Card

I loved Sheri Gilson's (from Paper Crafty's Creations) Halloween card so much I had to CASE it!  Check out her card from September 6th.

I changed the background paper and the image for my card, and rather than stitching around the image, I textured the white circle and raised the little ghostie with pop dots.  In keeping with the spider theme I had going, I also added a little spider to the image.  I like the way the ghost appears anxious about the spider on the pumpkin.  Have a great weekend!

Using Pencils

TGIF!  Sorry this post is a tad late today.  My camera's battery died, and we couldn't find the charger!  Both DH and I looked for two days and no luck....boo hoo.  We began to think maybe I left it in Bryce, Utah during our last trip.  Not one to give up easily, today I had to scour the house and garage one more time.  Imagine my surprise when I finally found it in a grocery bag on a shelf in the garage.  How it got in the bag and on a shelf in the garage I have no clue!  However, I am delighted to have found it!

Today's cards are a departure from the norm for me.  While I own a set of 72 Prismacolor pencils, I don't use them very often (I'm not very adept with them...kind of a chicken or the egg thing...am I not very adept because I don't use them often, or do I not use them often because I'm not very adept, lol).  Anyhow, I printed the digi on medium gray cardstock and used my Prismas to color the moon, the cat's eyes, and a window in the house on both cards and the title on one card.  I rather like the look.

Thanksgiving Blessings

I adore this Autumn image from Beccy's Place!  It was fun to color and is the perfect size for smaller cards.  This card came together quicker than most, and I'm anxious to try it again with the same elements only a different color palette.  Although I do need to change the stripes on the middle gourd, lol.  They're a little too straight up and down and evenly spaced.  See there's that trouble with randomness again!

It's back to Holiday cards today, but rather than Halloween or Christmas it's Thanksgiving!  I couldn't resist this kitty from Mo's Digital Pencil and wanted to try my hand at some patchwork coloring.  Not too bad for my first attempt.  Random placement is something I struggle with.  While the colors in her fur aren't quite as randomly placed as I would have liked, I'm still happy with the result.

A Break from Holiday Cards

Whew, don't know about you, but I need a break from the Holiday cards!  While I adore the season from Halloween through New Year, I'm getting a little burnt out right now.  So, today's card is one I made up a while back, but haven't had the opportunity to give it to anyone (in my circle of family and friends, only my mother is a fan of the Fae and she already has many of my cards).  Bramble Lastleaf is too cute a little Sweet November image to go unloved :-(  The patterned paper is from my all time favorite Basic Grey pad, Kioshi.  The soft colors and white in this paper, rather than the dingy cream so popular lately, are visually appealing to me.  The saying is one of many freebies available from Elegant Word Art 2.
